State Central Library, Ambala Cantt has been a cornerstone of knowledge and learning since it opened its doors in March 1967. With a rich collection of over 18,000 books covering a wide range of subjects, along with subscriptions to 18 newspapers, 1 employment newspaper, and 25 magazines, it’s a vibrant space for readers of all interests.
Serving a community of more than 90,000 lifetime members, the library welcomes around 150 visitors daily to its spacious, well-ventilated hall that comfortably seats 250 people. Open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM six days a week (closed on Fridays, the last Saturday of the month, and public holidays), it’s a place where knowledge is truly accessible to everyone—no matter their background or occupation.
