DAV Public Schools draw their inspiration from the timeless philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, who remains the guiding light of the DAV educational movement. The movement itself was founded in 1866 by Lala Lajpat Rai, a prominent freedom fighter of modern India. The first DAV School opened its doors on 1st June 1886 in Lahore, with Mahatma Hansraj serving as its first Principal. Driven by the mission to spread quality education far and wide, Mahatma Narayan Das Grover traveled extensively, establishing schools and colleges across Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal.
Today, DAV Schools have grown into the largest non-governmental educational organization in India, managing over 720 institutions across the country and abroad.
