The foundation of D.A.V. Public School, Chamba, was laid on 26th November 1994 by the revered Arya Samaj scholar Sh. Darbari Lal Ji, the Organizing Secretary of the D.A.V. College Managing Committee. His dream was simple but powerful to bring high quality, value based education to the people of Chamba, particularly those who lived in remote and tribal belts with limited access to modern schooling.
The chosen location, embraced by the lap of nature along the Chamba Bharmour road and beside the gushing River Ravi, symbolized purity, wisdom, and growth. It was at this sacred, picturesque site that the seeds of a great educational journey were planted.
Since its inception, the school has been directly managed by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee, one of India’s most respected educational organizations. The committee’s legacy of discipline, values, and academic excellence continues to shape the school’s identity even today.
