What is a Gate Valve?
A gate valve is an industrial linear-motion valve designed strictly for isolation service, operating by lifting a rectangular or circular gate straight up out of the fluid path to start flow or lowering it to block it completely.
Construction and Working of Gate Valves:-
Gate valves are a class of linear motion valves that control fluid flow by lifting up and down a gate (wedge or disk) in a direction that is perpendicular to the flow stream. When the valve is completely opened, the gate is lifted out of the flow stream allowing unobstructed flow without any pressure loss.Gate valves are widely used for the situations requiring total flow Isolation.The mechanism of opening and closing a gate valve consists of rotating a hand wheel or actuator causing the stem movement upwards or downwards.
