About Holy Cross School, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand
The Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross trace their origins to Switzerland in 1856, where the Congregation was founded by two remarkable visionaries: Rev. Fr. Theodosius Florentini, OFM Cap, and Blessed Mother Theresa Scherer. Their mission was deeply rooted in compassion, service, and education. Today, the Congregation has grown into an international organization, with its members serving in Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia. Since 1894, the sisters have extended their compassionate service to India, establishing a wide network of educational, health, and social service institutions across the country.
At the heart of Holy Cross School is the belief that education is more than academic achievement. The school emphasizes moral and spiritual development, nurturing students to become responsible, compassionate, and socially aware citizens. The sisters prioritize care for the marginalized and underprivileged, ensuring that every child regardless of background receives quality education and guidance.
