The foundation of the college dates back to 2019, when it was initially established under the name Hazaribag Medical College. The academic journey officially began in August 2019, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of medical education in the state of Jharkhand. The establishment and functioning of the college have been supported by the Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare Department Jharkhand, under the Government of Jharkhand. In terms of regulatory oversight, the college initially functioned under the supervision of the Board of Governors, which operated in place of the Medical Council of India. Over time, this responsibility transitioned to the National Medical Commission, the current apex body governing medical education and practice in India. This ensures that the college adheres to modern standards, updated curricula, and national level benchmarks in medical training.
