Chatham Memorial is a poignant tribute located on Chatham Island, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This memorial commemorates the arrival of the first batch of 200 freedom fighters from the First War of Independence in 1857 to the Andaman Islands. On March 10 each year, a solemn function is held at the memorial, where officials and residents gather to pay homage to these heroes. The Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration leads the tributes, laying wreaths and offering floral tributes alongside members of the Local Born Association and other island inhabitants.
