About ZSI REGIONAL MUSEUM, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The Zoological Survey of India was founded on the first of July in 1916 with the goal of promoting exploration, survey, and research to deepen our understanding of the rich and diverse wildlife that once existed across the British Indian Empire. Its roots go back to 1875 when the Zoological Section was created within the Indian Museum in Calcutta. Over the years, by growing its team and expanding its research efforts, the Survey has successfully met past challenges and continues to prepare for future ones. Since the beginning, it has stayed true to its main mission without change.
